- Description
- This volume examines men’s experiences during the Holocaust. Chapters first focus on the years of genocide: Jewish victims of National Socialism, Nazi soldiers, Catholic priests enlisted in the Wehrmacht, Jewish doctors in the ghettos, men from the Sonderkommando in Auschwitz, and Muselmänner in the camps. The book then moves to the postwar context: German Protestant theologians, Jewish refugees, non-Jewish Austrian men, and Jewish masculinities in the United States.

- Description
- This collection provides a theoretical approach to the study of how global norms influence social processes. It analyses the institutional and political processes whereby actors – be they local, national, regional or trans-national – engage with global norms of gender equality. Authors look at how context and history effect norm engagement and how particular groups and actors tend to be marginalised from discussions of global norms.

- Description
- In this brief, WEDO (Women’s Environment and Development Organization) argues that gender equality is a critical element of effective, sustainable climate action. After a short background about integration of gender perspectives into all climate finance, it proposes alternatives for constructing a climate finance portfolio that is feminist. It also highlights key challenges and opportunities for understanding gender-responsive programmes. One of WEDO's recommendations is to use lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic to prioritize comprehensive, long-term feminist investing and monitoring.. .The brief consists of three parts: making the case for a feminist portfolio: opportunities for rethinking climate finance investments: transform discourse on effective climate finance.

- Description
- This book considers the experience and relationships of those whose sexuality and gender may not align with the heterosexual "norm", using a psychoanalytic approach. It confronts the heteronormative bias dominant in psychoanalysis, using a combination of theoretical and clinical material. The contributors address the shift clinicians must make not only to support their patients in a more informed and non-prejudicial way, but also to recognize their own need for support in developing their clinical thinking.

- Description
- This collection of essays explores how monstrosity challenged social, religious, sexual and natural structures and hierarchies in the period 1500-1750 and contributed to its knowledge, moral and emotional repertoire. Based on various medicinal and philosophical primary sources, exceptional bodies in the form of e.g. prodigious births, hermaphrodites, collections of extraordinary things, powerful women, disabilities, and shapeshifting phenomena are examined in a period before all varieties and differences became normalized to a homogenous standard.

- Description
- This volume analyzes the causes and effects of women's economic power or lack of power. The book helps students understand the significant role of gender in developing societies. It shows, for example, how women in the Global South become disempowered during campaigns of rural proletarianization. Another chapter describes the economic and social consequences of women's lack of access to basic facilities of menstrual hygiene in India. Also discussed is the influence of war on women's power, by considering the aftermath of civil wars in Rwanda, Bosnia and Nepal.

- Description
- This volume considers the interrelation between bodily interventions, intimate labour and vulnerable bodies. It examines how different kinds of biotechnology processes and regulations affect those who seek interventions and help. The interventions include for example help-seeking in the context of intimate partner violence, body modifications for those affected by female genital cutting or gender-affirming surgeries. The authors argue that the vulnerabilities created by these interventions, derive partly from the interventions themselves but also from the ways different regulations enable or disable people access to medical treatment.
