- Description
- 'This report made an assessment of the status of gender equality in the European Union possible and showed that the EU overall was only half way towards equality, emphasising the need for increased and more effective policy measures and enables a comparison not only across Member States, but also over time by providing scores for 2005, 2010 and 2012. .Furthermore, the report takes an important step in measuring violence against women. By drawing on data collected by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) it explores the possibilities for computing a measure for violence against women.'

- Description
- 'This, the sixth annual European Jobs Monitor report, looks in more detail at recent shifts (from the second quarter (Q2) of 2011 to 2016 Q2) in employment at Member State and aggregate EU levels. Part 1 of the report applies a ‘jobs-based approach’ to describe employment shifts quantitatively (how many jobs were created or destroyed and in what sectors) and qualitatively (what kinds of jobs they were, primarily in terms of average hourly pay). Part 2, a more analytical section, discusses the role that occupations play in structuring European wage inequality, and to what extent the observed patterns of job polarisation and upgrading have contributed to wage inequality trends in the last decade.'

- Description
- 'Women’s labour market participation in the European Union has increased over recent decades, passing 70% in 2014. In that year, women comprised almost 46% of the active EU labour market population. Nevertheless, women’s employment and participation rates are still lower than those of men in almost all Member States. Fostering higher participation of women is crucial to meet the Europe 2020 target to achieve an overall employment rate of at least 75% by 2020. This report explores the main characteristics and consequences of gender gaps in labour market participation. It finds that the total cost of a lower female employment rate was €370 billion in 2013, corresponding to 2.8% of EU GDP. The report also examines policies and measures aimed at fostering female labour market participation, which could be central to closing gender gaps.'

- Description
- 'This report is meant to provide a better knowledge of the role and positioning of men in gender equality issues. Men’s practices and interests regarding gender equality vary, partly due to differences in provider roles and economic circumstances, but also due to different social, political and cultural patterns. During the last years a special focus on men has emerged at the European level and the amount of research as well as specific strategies have increased. Still, there is little systematised knowledge about men’s practices regarding gender equality in the different European countries.'
