- Description
- 'Based on employee pipeline data from 132 companies, two broad themes emerge this year: .1 ) On average, women are promoted and hired at lower rates than men, so far fewer women become senior leaders. .(2) At more senior levels, we see women shift from line to staff roles, so very few end up on the path to becoming CEO. .Despite modest progress since 2015, women remain underrepresented in the corporate pipeline. At every step, the representation of women declines, and this does not appear to be the result of company-level attrition. On average, the women and men in this study are leaving their organizations at about the same rate.'

- Description
- This report analyzes data for all 50 states and the District of Columbia across six topical areas that affect women’s lives: political participation, employment and earnings, work and family, poverty and opportunity, health and well-being, and violence and safety. Within each of these areas, various indicators of well-being are explored. While the focus of the report is on the status of Black women, comparisons between Black women and other racial and ethnic groups of women (and men) are presented to contextualize the data. Basic demographic data for each state are also provided. The report concludes with recommendations to improve the status of Black women in the United States.

- 'The second Global Report on discrimination under the follow-up to the ILO Declaration on Fundamental .Principles and Rights at Work examines emerging issues in patterns of workplace discrimination and inequalities and recent policy responses, and outlines the ILO’s experience and achievements to date and the challenges it faces. It points to the need for better enforcement of legislation against discrimination, as well as non-regulatory initiatives by governments and enterprises, and equipping the social partners to be more effective in .making equality a reality at the workplace. The Report puts forward other proposals for future action, including making equality a mainstream objective of the ILO’s Decent Work Country Programmes.'

- Description
- This study takes a wide-angle, comparative lens to the lives of men – as sons and husbands and fathers, at home and at work, in public and private life – to better understand how they see their positions as men, and their attitudes and actions toward gender equality in the Middle East and North Africa. Equally important are women’s perspectives on these same issues. Its wealth of quantitative and qualitative findings complements a growing body of research on men and masculinities in the MENA region.

- Description
- 'With an aging population and declining productivity growth, Europe faces serious challenges to raising its output growth. Adding to these challenges are the various gender gaps in the labor market. Despite significant progress in recent decades, there are still fewer women than men participating in Europe’s labor market, and women are more likely to work part time. Furthermore, a smaller share of women reaches the top rungs of the corporate ladder. .Against this backdrop, this paper investigates the drivers of female labor force participation in Europe as well as what effects greater gender diversity in senior corporate positions might have for Europe’s economic performance. Reexamining the factors driving women’s labor force participation is particularly important because in many European countries the process of closing the gender gap has stalled despite greater gender equality in human capital investment, declining birth rates, changing social norms, and equal legal access to employment opportunities. .For women in Europe the decision to work is not simply a matter of personal choice—policies matter, too. .More women in the labor force paves the way for increased diversity in senior corporate positions and better firm performance. The empirical evidence suggests a strong positive association between firms’ gender diversity in senior positions and corporate financial performance.'

- Description
- Women in the Workplace 2017 is a study of the state of women in corporate America. This research is part of a long-term partnership between McKinsey & Company and LeanIn.Org to give organizations the information they need to promote women’s leadership and foster gender equality. In 2017 222 companies employing more than 12 million people shared their pipeline data and completed a survey of HR practices. In addition, more than 70,000 employees completed a survey designed to explore their experiences regarding gender, opportunity, career, and work-life issues. We also interviewed women from different races and ethnicities at all levels in their organization. The 2017 findings build on reports from 2016 and 2015, as well as similar research conducted by McKinsey & Company in 2012. Since 2012, more than 350 companies have participated— many for multiple years—and close to 200,000 employees have been surveyed.

- Description
- Women in the Workplace is a comprehensive study of the state of women in corporate America. In 2015, McKinsey & Company and LeanIn.Org launched the study to help companies advance diversity in the workplace. Between 2015 and 2019, close to 600 companies took part in the study, and more than a quarter of a million people were surveyed on their workplace experiences. In 2020, women in corporate America are facing a new challenge: the Covid-19 pandemic. This report focuses on how the pandemic has affected women at work, including the unique impact on women of different races and ethnicities, working mothers, women in senior leadership, and women with disabilities. It also looks at the emotional impact of incidents of racial violence in this country on employees. Finally, it tracks the changes we’ve seen in women’s representation over the past six years and assesses how Covid-19 could disrupt those trends going forward.

- 'The report examines changes in working conditions, focusing on the extent of occupational concentration of, .and segregation between, the sexes in today’s workplace and showing how this impacts on the quality of women’s and men’s working lives. Key similarities and differences in women’s and men’s working environments are examined, while specific aspects of job quality – including working hours, job satisfaction, work–life compatibility and work-related health outcomes – are explored to help gauge the experiences of women and men in an everchanging workplace.'
