Through a collection of personal narratives, this report describes the life of the transgender community in Bangalore, in particular the hijras and kothis. Along with the cultural and social contexts it also analyses the current legal framework and its pre-occupation with regulating the movements of hijras and kothis. It describes the harassment, abuse and sexual violence that form a part of the life of hijras and kothis and the ways in which the process of organizing by hijra and kothi sex workers is taking place.
