- Verdreven uit Frankrijk door de anti-religieuzenwetten vestigden zich rond 1903 de kanunnikessen van de H. Augustinus in Vught op het landgoed Eikenheuvel. Op het terrein verrees het gebouw 'Regina Coeli', dat bekendheid gekregen heeft als Frans meisjespensionaat. Tot 1935 werd daar opgeleid voor onderwijsaktes Frans, maar de meisjes kregen er ook een brede algemene culturele vormin. In 1935 werd de school als Middelbare Meisjesschool erkend. De zusters - inmiddels waren ook Nederlandse vrouwen ingetreden - verzorgden tevens kleuter- en lager onderwijs in de parochie. In 1963 is het Talenpracticum 'Regina Coeli' opgericht, dat landelijk bekend is geworden als 'Bij de nonnen van Vught' voor het bijspijkeren van vreemde talen.
