In Uganda women has given a share of nearly 25% in parliament and a minimum of 30% in local government. This is due to affirmative action. Author examines gendered spaces in elections as a political process, and documents some of the experiences of women's political participation. She attempts to trace discourses around women and formal politics in Uganda.
