- Description
- This report gives an overview of the laws on sexual violence in the fifteen countries of the former Soviet Union. It analyses gaps in the law allowing for potential impunity for perpetrators of sexual violence crimes. It also looks at related crimes, such as bride kidnapping and forced marriage, to understand how they contribute to enabling impunity for perpetrators. Results show that rape and sexual assault related laws and practices of the 15 countries of the former Soviet Union effectively deny access to justice for survivors of sexual violence.
