- Description
- The legal recognition of same-sex relationships in Europe has undergone significant changes, both on a national and European level. More than half of the Member States of the European Union have introduced legislation on the formalization of same-sex relationships. This second edition provides an updated overview of registration schemes and same-sex marriages in Europe. It also comments on the legal aspects of same-sex couples and their children (including surrogate motherhood) in different European jurisdictions, and it addresses cross-border and European issues.

- Description
- This book offers an analysis of how women's movements have been remaking citizenship in multicultural Europe. Presenting the findings of a large scale, multi-disciplinary, cross-national feminist research project, FEMCIT, it develops an expanded, multi-dimensional understanding of citizenship as practice and experience. The book pays particular attention to processes of racialization and minoritization as they impact upon, and construct, citizenship and women's movements in contemporary Europe. The book develops answers to two vital questions – what difference have women's movements and feminism made to experiences and practices of citizenship, and how can we assess the state of citizenship in contemporary Europe from the perspective of women, particularly minoritized women?

- Description
- The historians in this collection are looking for ways to expand the ways we examine and write about medieval women. They are interested in the great and the obscure, and women from different times and places. All attempt to get closer to the life as lived, personified in individual stories. As such, these essays prompt us to rethink what we can know about medieval women, how we can know it, and how we can write about them to expand our insights.

- Description
- What is the relative importance of different inequalities for policymaking? Should they all be protected similarly, or are some different and deserving of wider protection? The last decade has seen a steady move away from policy approaches that address different inequalities separately and a move towards an integrated approach to multiple inequalities. This collection maps the ways in which multiple inequalities are being addressed institutionally in Europe, and identifies the changing patterns of institutionalization. Using country-based and region-specific case studies it offers a comparative analysis of the multidimensional equality regimes that are emerging in Europe, and analyses the potential that these have for 'institutionalizing intersectionality'.
