It provides policy directions for governments by analyzing the root of the digital gender divide. .First it identifies the causes and effects of womens and girls' digital gaps through three areas of policy action: include, upskill and innovate. It focuses on issues concerning hurdles to access, affordability, lack of education, lower educational enrolment in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and ICT disciplines, limited use of digital tool, payment and glass ceiling. - Description
- This book assesses the scale and scope of transformations in family life and their implications for gender equality and women’s empowerment. The world as well as families, and the role of women and girls within them, are changing. The report approaches families as institutions where both cooperation (solidarity and love) and conflict (inequality and violence) coexist. It explains how unequal outcomes within families are influenced by family members’ unequal power to negotiate. It also highlights the contribution of social support systems, such as women’s rights organizations, and progressive social norms. The report provides policy recommendations in order to support families and meet the needs of their members.

- Description
- During the last decade the number of studies about human trafficking increased. This review of research and data on trafficking shows that despite the growing literature on trafficking around the world, relatively few studies are based on comprehensive or empirical research. Besides, information on the actual numbers of people trafficked remains unclear. The book suggests different ways in which to improve research and data on human trafficking. It is an offprint of the special issue of International Migration Vol. 43 (1/2) 2005.
