Authors present the findings of their research in Montreal on balancing private life and work among highly qualified information technology (IT) professionals: managers and engineers. They did research on how commitment is assessed in career advancement (the performance appraisal and promotion process), working long hours and the impact of the differences between men's and women's working hours on career advancement.
