Little information is available regarding HIV-virus infection among female sex workers in Burkina Faso, West Africa. A cross-sectional study was conducted in Ouagadougou and Bobo-Dioulasso, the 2 largest cities of the country, to determine the prevalence of HIV infection and other sexually transmitted diseases among female sex workers.
The purpose of this paper is to assess the internal consistency of self reported condom use among sex workers in Puerto Plata and Santa Domingo. Examined were the response to questions about condom use among 4 cross sectional samples of sex workers.
This study examined the health of risk profile of prostitutes in Dublin. Clinical records of all 150 new prostitutes who attended a drop-in clinic for prostitutes in Dublin city during the period of 1991-1997 were reviewed. Variables examined included: age, use of drugs, HIV, Hepatitus B&C and sexually transmitted diseases.
