Sexual exploitation of children (under 14 years of age) is a common occurrence, although actual numbers are unknown. There are three major forms of sexual abuse: incest, ie, sexual activity between consanguineous family members: sexual assault, such as rape or molestation by adults not related to the child: and habitual sexual exploitation for purposes of financial reward or perverse sexual satisfaction.
