Compilation of papers presented at an ARROW-WDF symposium held at the 6th Asia Pacific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights (APCRSHR). The papers provide an overview of the scale and burden of the disease in the Asia-Pacific region, of the negative impact of diabetes on pregnancy and perinatal outcomes, on the health of women and future generations, and on the sexuality and sexual health of men and women. The concluding chapter presents the key points presented in the three papers, makes recommendations for action, and presents advocacy opportunities for reducing deaths and disabilities and improving the health of women and future generations.
