She would not be moved
Kohl is retelling the story of Rosa Parks (1913-2005) - a civil rights activist - and the Montgomery bus boycott (1955), in order to prove that Parks was not a poor, uneducated seamstress who acted on impulse and emotion rather than with intelligence and moral conviction. An extensive teachers' resource guide to educational materials about Parks and the civil rights movement is included.
