Equality at work
Equality at work
'The second Global Report on discrimination under the follow-up to the ILO Declaration on Fundamental .Principles and Rights at Work examines emerging issues in patterns of workplace discrimination and inequalities and recent policy responses, and outlines the ILO’s experience and achievements to date and the challenges it faces. It points to the need for better enforcement of legislation against discrimination, as well as non-regulatory initiatives by governments and enterprises, and equipping the social partners to be more effective in .making equality a reality at the workplace. The Report puts forward other proposals for future action, including making equality a mainstream objective of the ILO’s Decent Work Country Programmes.' -

Collateral Damage
This report reviews the impact of anti-trafficking measures on human rights in 8 countries: Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, India, Nigeria, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States. Each country chapter provides an overview of human trafficking, the current legal framework concerning all aspects of anti-trafficking efforts, specific laws and policies and their implications on key groups of people, and a critical analysis of the human rights impact of these measures specifically on women. This anthology emphasises the critical need for a re-assessment of anti-trafficking initiatives around the globe in order that human rights do not get written off as ‘collateral damage’ in combating human trafficking.- Creator

From invisible to indivisible
The study explores a range of factors that make children more vulnerable to violence and suggests strategies for ending violence against children. As part of this analysis the study recognises that virtually all forms of violence are linked to entrenched gender roles and inequalities, and that the violation of the rights of children is closely linked to the status of women. This publication was produced as part of the follow-up to the United Nations study on violence against children, 2007.- Creator

Feminization of migration
This paper analyzes the exact meaning of what has become a widespread expression: the feminization of migration. This term refers more to the change in migratory patterns of females than to the significant increase in the percentage of women among the total number of migrants (47% in 1960 and 49% today). It discusses the main factors driving the female migration and its relationship with the reproduction of gender inequalities at the global level. Finally, we discuss the impact of gender on women’s migration.- Creator
