The report highlights the specific challenges facing women: higher-risk sectors affect women's employment, women informal workers under greater threat, increased women’s unpaid care work and escalation of domestic violence. It provides an overview of measures taken by countries to address the needs of different women workers. Finally, it recommends short- and long-term actions governments can take to advance gender equality for more resilient, inclusive and sustainable economies and societies. -

In dit artikel gaan auteurs in op de rol van de overheid bij de combinatie van arbeid en zorg. Aandacht wordt besteed aan drie vormen van kinderopvang: formele, informele betaalde en onbetaalde kinderopvang. De regelingen in Nederland worden vergeleken met die in het buitenland. Hieruit blijkt dat de overheid de herverdeling van arbeid en zorgtaken tussen mannen en vrouwen wil stimuleren. Kinderopvangsubsidies leiden tot hogere arbeidsdeelname, betaald verlofregelingen juist tot minder gewerkte uren.- Creator

Bridging the digital gender divide
This brochure presents the key messages of a report concerning the advancement of the '2017 G20 roadmap for digitalisation: policies for a digital future', in particular the support of equal participation of women in the digital economy. It provides policy directions for governments by analyzing the root of the digital gender divide. .First it identifies the causes and effects of womens and girls' digital gaps through three areas of policy action: include, upskill and innovate. It focuses on issues concerning hurdles to access, affordability, lack of education, lower educational enrolment in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and ICT disciplines, limited use of digital tool, payment and glass ceiling. The index explores economic rights during different milestones in a woman’s working life through eight indicators, including mobility, payment, laws affecting women's work after having children and legal constraints on a woman's pension. -
