Gender and migration
Criticises contemporary studies of migration for focusing only on the policy demands of governments and humanitarian agencies. With this as its starting point, the essays examine gender in relation to theories on migration. The topics include: asylum politics and migrant women’s experiences in the United Kingdom and in South Africa, Pakistani women escaping domestic violence seekig asylum, trafficking, post-disaster resettlement in Venezuela, and relationships between Greek women and migrant men in Greece.
