Smash the pillars
This collection of essays focuses on scholars and activists' efforts to decolonize Dutch history and memory. The contributions by among others Gloria Wekker, Halleh Ghorashi, Mitchell Esajas, Quincy Gario and Lianne Leonora, provides a glimpse into decolonial activism in the Dutch kingdom. The central statement of this book is that the kingdom's current social organization, which relies on separate pillars for each religious or racial group, must be dismantled in order to be fully decolonized. The volume includes topics such as black resistance, black heritage tours, anti-black Pete movement and white innocence in the Netherlands.
