De 10e mei 1970 werd uitgeroepen tot ongehuwde moederdag, de leden van de actiegroep 'Ongehuwde Moeders' demonstreren met spandoeken met tekst: 'ongehuwde moeders zijn ook moeders': moeders zijn moeders': 'alle kinderen zijn echte kinderen': '10 mei ongehuwde moederdag': 'waar zijn de ongehuwde vaders?'. .'Met bossen bloemen en taarten trokken zij door de stad naar het tehuis van ongehuwde moeders in de Alberdink Thymstraat en vervolgens naar dat aan de Prinsengracht.'
