Description | The author examines two modalities of law, depicted spatially as the vertical and the horizontal. She questions why vertical law is problematic for feminists, what the theoretical characteristics of law in its horizontal register are and how an appreciation of this ÔÇÿflatÔÇÖ law is useful for feminist legal theory and practice. In particular, she considers ways in which feminist legal theory operating in the horizontal dimension can transgress the vertically determined perimeters of the nation state. |
