DescriptionThe effectiveness of accredited and pre-accredited prison-based cognitive skills programmes on reducing reconviction for a group of female offenders was assessed. One- and two-year reconviction rates for programme participants were compared to those for matched groups who had not participated in programmes. The results are explored in relation to criminogenic need and what works with this population.
