DescriptionThis annual report examines experiences of girls and young women concerning their use of social media platforms. It analyzes the platforms they use, the motivation of their usage, their experience with .harassment, the perpetrators and the impact of harassment on them and on their continued .usage of social media platforms. The research is conducted across 31 countries with over 14,000 girls and young women. The research shows that online harassment not only occurs 'because I'm a girl', but that race, ethnic background, sexual identity, disability and religion have a strengthening effect on the occurence. The report ends with recommendations based on the interviewees'views.
