Description | This report provides an overview of situations of women in the MENA region after 2011. Despite of achievements and improvements in women's lives in health and education, there is less progress in women's participation on the labour market, in politics and the civil society. The report not only examines the impact of the conflicts and the political opportunities after the 2011 Arab uprisings, but also focuses on the situation of LGBT persons. It proposes an approach that balances the ethical demands of individual and collective rights as well as a liberal position supporting women’s and LGBT rights. |
