Description | Cooking has been, and still is, perceived in the West as a private affair in which a government should not interfere. With this study the researcher hopes to demonstrate that we cannot hold on to this Western perception of cooking, when studying it in the Soviet Union of the late 1950s and early 1960s, the period during which Nikita Khrushchev led the country. The Khrushchev regime perceived domestic cooking as a public affair. Master thesis Russian and Eurasian Studies. |
