Description | In this dissertation the author argues that left-wing women’s organizations played an active role in everyday Cold War politics in Italy and Yugoslavia.Their leaders designed an original, progressive agenda on the “women’s question”, fighting against long-standing gendered discrimination and violence, and fostering women’s political, social and economic rights. During the early Cold War period Italian and Yugoslav antifascist women’s organizations established transnational revolutionary networks across borders, not only between East and West but also between the West, the Second World and the Third World. |
