DescriptionBorn in New York City, Gemma La Guardia Gluck (1881-1962) was the daughter of an American army bandleader and European mother of aristocratic Italian Jewish lineage. Her brother was New York City mayor Fiorello La Guardia. Gluck recounts the plight of Budapest's Jews, deportation to Mauthausen with her Hungarian Jewish husband, and enslavement at Ravensbrück, a concentration camp for women. Incorporating 'My story'. Reprint of her in 1961 first published story. This revised edition contains a new prologue, epilogue, photos, and annotated material inspired by recently discovered notes and letters.
