- At first a brief history of women, equality, and the Supreme Court. Second the author will examine what she believes to be evidence that the Supreme Court has, unbeknownst to itself, foundered upon the culturally instilled limits of its ability to dismantle male preserves. And third she speculates that there is also a female preserve, functioning as a hidden hand not only for the courts but for feminists as well, and that this unacknowledged influence may be causing problems for feminist legal theorists.
