- Description
- Study of the experiences of older people with disabilities in humanitarian crises. The research methods used included a literature review and interviews with different target groups in Western Tanzania and Eastern Ukraine as well as international agencies working in humanitarian response. Besides, six disability comparison surveys were analysed, including databases from two crises-affected populations in Haiti and Palestine and data from India, Guatemala, Cameroon and Nepal. Results show that older people with disabilities were confronted with more barriers that empeded them to escape from danger and exercise their right to humanitarian assistance and participation.
