- Description
- The document first outlines the problems of youth in the labour market as well as their main causes. It provides an overview of international initiatives taken in the area of youth employment, as well as of the relevant International Labour Organization (ILO) Standards and activities. The main section of the report provides a series of policy considerations and recommendations, covering the main relevant policy areas related to youth employment. Finally, the roles and responsibilities of the actors involved, as well as the benefits of a strengthened social dialogue and cooperation among them to improve the prospects for young women and men in the world of work, are discussed.
