- Description
- This book challenges a model of literary production that persists in literary studies: the so-called 'Geniekult' or the idea of the solitary male author as genius that emerged around 1800 in German lands. A closer look at creative practices during this time indicates that collaborative creative endeavors, specifically joint ventures between women and men, were an important mode of literary production during this era. This volume surveys a variety of such collaborations and proves that male and female spheres of creation were not as distinct as has been previously thought.

- Description
- This book explores the different ways in which dual-earner couples in contemporary welfare states plan for, realize and justify their divisions of work and care during the transition to parenthood. Providing an analysis of new parents in eight European countries, this book locates couples' beliefs and negotiations in the wider context of national institutional structures. The ways and degrees to which new parents can realize their work-care plans and ideals relate to the support structures and resources available from employers, families and the state. A key focus is on couples that act in a non-normative way compared to their national, gender cultural context.
