- 'Based on employee pipeline data from 132 companies, two broad themes emerge this year: .1 ) On average, women are promoted and hired at lower rates than men, so far fewer women become senior leaders. .(2) At more senior levels, we see women shift from line to staff roles, so very few end up on the path to becoming CEO. .Despite modest progress since 2015, women remain underrepresented in the corporate pipeline. At every step, the representation of women declines, and this does not appear to be the result of company-level attrition. On average, the women and men in this study are leaving their organizations at about the same rate.'

- The scope of this report is on the revealing of gender practices in the construction of academic excellence in recruitment and selection procedures. Core questions for this report are whether the criteria that have been used .play out differently or similarly for male and female candidates, and how constructions of excellence are connected to the reproduction of inequalities in the research system. The construction of excellence is particularly salient for those workers who hold precarious positions, as the label of excellence is the key to their inclusion or exclusion in academia and research. This report presents a comparative analysis across GARCIA beneficiaries in Switzerland, Italy, Iceland, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Slovenia. The analysis is based on national research reports from these countries.

- 'The ‘due diligence principle’, as it is commonly termed, holds States accountable for human rights abuses committed not only by the State or State actors, but also by non-State actors. Violence against women (VAW) is most often perpetrated by non-State actors — for example, a close male relative or an intimate partner. The due diligence principle is a critical tool in the formulation of accountability. By making the State accountable for violence perpetrated by non-State actors, public international law recognizes that VAW, regardless of who commits it, constitutes human rights violations. Due diligence has also ruptured the artificial ‘public/private sphere’ divide and the dichotomy between State and non-State actors, as States are now not only permitted but .obliged to enter the so-called ‘private sphere’ where most instances of VAW take place and where States have traditionally been barred.'

- This report gives a picture of where women stand today and how they have progressed in the world of work over the last 20 years, and of the root causes of inequalities and how they should be tackled based on what works and the guidance provided by international labour standards. It shows that, despite some encouraging advances, major gender gaps at work remain. Increasing gender parity in educational attainment does not prevent women from being concentrated in middle to lower-paid occupations that reflect traditional gender stereotypes and beliefs about women’s and men’s aspirations and capabilities.

- 'With an aging population and declining productivity growth, Europe faces serious challenges to raising its output growth. Adding to these challenges are the various gender gaps in the labor market. Despite significant progress in recent decades, there are still fewer women than men participating in Europe’s labor market, and women are more likely to work part time. Furthermore, a smaller share of women reaches the top rungs of the corporate ladder. .Against this backdrop, this paper investigates the drivers of female labor force participation in Europe as well as what effects greater gender diversity in senior corporate positions might have for Europe’s economic performance. Reexamining the factors driving women’s labor force participation is particularly important because in many European countries the process of closing the gender gap has stalled despite greater gender equality in human capital investment, declining birth rates, changing social norms, and equal legal access to employment opportunities. .For women in Europe the decision to work is not simply a matter of personal choice—policies matter, too. .More women in the labor force paves the way for increased diversity in senior corporate positions and better firm performance. The empirical evidence suggests a strong positive association between firms’ gender diversity in senior positions and corporate financial performance.'

- In dit kwalitatieve onderzoek naar tienerzwangerschap gaat het om het perspectief van meiden zelf. Hun levensverhalen staan centraal. Interviews met 46 meiden die voor hun 20ste zwanger raakten, boden inzicht in wat er aan de zwangerschap vooraf ging, hoe ze de zwangerschap beleefden, de keuze maakten voor afbreken of uitdragen van de zwangerschap en hoe hun leven na het afbreken of uitdragen van de zwangerschap verder ging. Specifiek doel van dit onderzoek was om scenario´s in kaart te brengen, ´routes´ die voorafgaan aan tienerzwangerschap, om hier met preventie beter op aan te kunnen sluiten. Daarnaast levert dit onderzoek nieuwe inzichten over de belemmeringen en ondersteuning die meiden ervaren bij verwerking van een abortus of het herinrichten van hun leven als jonge moeder. In de onderzoeksgroep van 46 meiden zaten 15 meiden die (ook) een abortus hadden meegemaakt. De groep was etnisch divers. Vanwege de hogere tienerzwangerschapscijfers onder Surinaamse en Antilliaanse meiden, is specifieke aandacht besteed in de vertegenwoordiging van deze groep in dit onderzoek. Twaalf van de 46 meiden waren van Surinaamse of Antilliaanse afkomst, vijf meiden hadden een andere niet-westerse etnische afkomst.
