Genealogies and conceptual belonging
This book addresses the performative effects of academic stories about genealogy in debates about diversity terminology in Germany, and specifically in the conversation between Gender Studies and Diversity Studies. Presenting a story about dis/continuous genealogies and highlighting complicated interferences between gender and diversity, the author forges connections between questions of gender, sexual difference, and diversity.

Gender and neoliberalism
Through long-term ethnographic research, predominantly in the northern state of Haryana and the southern state of Tamil Nadu, the author describes how the All India Democratic Women's Association (a socialist women's organization) has built its strength by organizing the women most marginalized, i.c. Gendering global transformations
The authors of this book probe the effects of global and local forces in reshaping notions of gender, race, class, identity, human rights, and community across Africa and its Diaspora. The essays in this collection employ diverse interdisciplinary approaches--drawing from subjects such as history, sociology, religion, anthropology, gender studies, feminist studies--in an effort to centralize gender as a category of analysis in developing critical perspectives in a globalizing world. From this approach the authors, scholars from Africa, Europe and the United States, hope to illuminate the effects of issues such as international migration, globalization, and cultural continuities among diaspora communities on the articulation of women’s agency, community organization, and identity formation at the local and the global level.- Creator

Intimate citizenships
This volume explores the theory of citizenship, in order to bridge the gap between the public and the private sphere. Through the application of intersectional methodology, the authors document how people’s most private decisions and practices are intertwined with public institutions and state policies. Situated perspectives, as well as application of theoretical concepts to lived experience, extend citizenship’s territory beyond the conventional public sphere and locate it at the intersection of many axes of social, political, and cultural stratification.- Creator

Child abuse, gender and society
Traditionally child sexual abuse has been perceived as a male crime. Rrecent research suggests that a significant minority of offenders are female. While recognizing the importance of male perpetrators, this book places the behavior of these offending women into social context, challenging conventional perceptions of female offenders, femininity, and mothering. Including case studies and responses from professionals in the field, this key text highlights the problems inherent in protecting children and identifies ways in which we can develop a clearer understanding of the social processes involved through an analysis of the denial and minimisation used by female perpetrators. It offers a critical understanding of the notions of harm, the rights of the child, and professional practice while defining some of the limitations and possibilities of a feminist analysis of child sexual abuse by women.- Creator

Bodies, symbols and organizational practice

Analyzing how images, narratives, symbols and bodies are all part of how power and gender are constructed in organizations through a broad and international range of empirical studies, this book explores issues at the interstices of the humanities and social sciences, combining theoretical and analytical perspectives from both areas.- Creator
