- Description
- This publication serves as a knowledge base to understand and enforce action concerning gender-based violence (GBV) and environmental issues. It argues that gender-based abuse is observed across environmental contexts and affects the security of communities and the realisation of sustainable development goals (SDGs). The analysis shows the interlinking nature of GBV across three main contexts: access to and control of natural resources (land, forests, agriculture, water and fisheries): environmental pressure and threats (environmental crimes, extractive industries and agribusiness and climate change and weather-related disasters): and environmental action to defend and conserve ecosystems and resources (women environmental human rights defenders, environmental projects and environmental workplaces). The publication focuses on awareness and engagement of actors working in environmental and sustainable development, gender equality and GBV policymaking to apply rights-based, gender-responsive approaches to environmental policy, programmes and projects. The publication contains a list of case studies.

- Description
- This global shadow report contains the findings from national assessments on how to ensure a gender-just and transformative #Agenda2030. Specifically, it provides a synthesis of the findings of national and regional reports and the experiences of the Women2030 programme over 2016-2020. The Women2030 countries produced 38 reports, which monitor government action and progress on women’s rights and are used as advocacy tools in different policy processes including the Commission on the Status of Women. On regional level four reports were published, covering Africa, Asia Pacific, Latin America and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia.. .The agenda concerns the following issues: climate and environmental justice, redistributive and economic justice, political participation, gender based violence and gender stereotypes. It also highlights structural barriers across countries as well as best practices and opportunities for change.

- Description
- This publication examines progress and gaps in efforts to achieve gender equality in and through education since the adoption of the Beijing Platform for Action in 1995. Findings illustrate that in 2018 130 million girls worldwide were out of school and that the COVID-19 pandemic threatens to interrupt the education of more than 11 million girls. . .The report provides recommendations to investments and action on adolescent girls’ education, promotes multi-stakeholder partnerships and focuses on three themes: comprehensive sexuality education, involvement of adolescent girls in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and the development of adolescent girls’ leadership. These recommendations are accompanied by adolescent girls’ own needs and expectations.
