This research looks at different narratives about the abortion law in Poland and the development of it. The abortion law in Poland has had a long and diverse history and the Church has had a great role in how Polish society thinks of it. Author argues that the Church and other pro-life movements use a specific rhetoric in the debate to influence peoples opinion on abortion. The second argument is that women’s agency is taken away by making abortion illegal. Women’s movements are discussed ass well, and how they try to be taken seriously and get their place in the debate. To show how the matter takes form in real life, the Tysiac case will be discussed. This is an example of how hard it is made for women to get access to abortion, even if they are legally entitled to it. Bachelor thesis.
