- Description
- This book explores the making and experience of 'Killjoy’s Kastle', a walk-through installation and performance artwork by Allyson Mitchell and Deirdre Logue. Inspired by American evangelical Christian hell houses, feminist art history and other queer spectacles, the exhibition has been staged in Toronto, London and Los Angeles, engaging viewers in interactive encounters with spirits that haunt feminist and queer history. The book reflects on the theoretical and political legacies of the installation by queer and feminist scholars and participating artists.
