- This thesis centres the lived experiences of black township women in same-sex relationships in Cape .Town and Johannesburg. The main question - ‘How do black township women construct their samesex .sexuality?’ - called for a mixed methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data. .This approach generated 209 questionnaires, 32 in-depth interviews, and 13 focus group discussions, .also including participant observation data.
