The authors explore the current period in feminism, know by many as the 'third wave'. Four sections genealogies, sex and gender, popular culture, challenges interrogate the wave metaphor and, through questioning the generational account of feminism, move feminist theory beyond the present impasse between modernism and postmodernism and indicate possible future trajectories for the feminist movement.
