- Description
- Images of female labor have powered a new movement in the European cinema of the twenty-first-century. The author analyzes how these films about female employers, from care givers to executives, capture the tension between feminist advances and their suitability by capitalism in a time of enduring transformation. Looking at various European nations, the author sees a focus on labor adapted to the different kinds of capitalism of a continent and influenced by concepts in second-wave feminism.
