- Description
- Worldwide, healthy life expectancy can be increased by 5 to 10 years if governments and individuals work together to reduce major health risks in each Region. This report examines more than risks to health and identifies interventions that would reduce these risks, thereby increasing healthy life years. The risks to health include underweight, unsafe sex, high blood pressure, tobacco, alcohol, unsafe water and sanitation, cholesterol, indoor smoke from solid fuels, iron deficiency and overweight.

These include: caring responsibilities outside and at home: employment and risks to women’s jobs, income and the increased risk of female poverty, women in developing countries and gender-based violence. The final section discusses policy challenges and options to support women, workers and families with caring responsibilities or facing job loss, entrepreneurs and small-business owners and victims of gender-based violence. - Description
- The Gender Equality Index is a tool to measure the progress of gender equality in the EU, developed by EIGE. It gives more visibility to areas that need improvement and ultimately supports policy makers to design more effective gender equality measures.
The Gender Equality Index has tracked the painfully slow progress of gender equality in the EU since 2010, mostly due to advances in decision-making. While equality is more pronounced in some Member States than in others, it is far from a reality for everyone in every area. Gender norms around care, gender segregation in education and the labour market, and gender inequalities in pay remain pertinent.
The Index allows Member States to easily monitor and compare gender equality progress across various groups of women and men in the EU over time and to understand where improvements are most needed. The 2022 Index has a thematic focus on care in the pandemic. It explores the division of informal childcare, long-term care and housework between women and men.

- Description
- The Gender Equality Index covers a range of indicators in the domains of work, money, knowledge, time, power and health to monitor progress on gender equality in the European Union (EU). It also integrates two additional domains: violence and intersecting inequalities. It gives detailed analysis for the EU and each member state, the index shows country-level achievements and areas for improvement to lessen the gender gap. .This fifth edition of the index report focuses on the effects of digitalisation on the world of work and the consequences for gender equality. This topic is extremely relevant in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the ways in which the working lives of women and men have been affected by it.
