- Description
- The main goal of this study is to consider how the relations between gender, diaspora and youth culture are digitally articulated by Moroccan-Dutch youths between the age of 12 and 18 years old. Combining new media, gender and postcolonial theory, the researcher carried out a transdisciplinary analysis of a young ethnic-minority population whose contribution to digital culture is still undertheorized. In particular he explored how Moroccan-Dutch youths participate in and appropriate digital spaces in order to convey their belongings across multiple axes of identification such as gender, sexuality, diaspora, religion and youth-culture.

- Description
- Report of proceedings of an expert meeting on the migration of highly skilled women. It identifies research gaps related to the global challenges and opportunities of highly skilled women migration. Between 2000 and 2011, the number of highly educated female migrants in OECD countries rose by 80 per cent. One third (34%) come from Asia while the four leading destination countries are Canada, Israel, the United Kingdom and the United States. Many migration policies targeting the highly skilled are inadequate regarding their level of gender sensitivity. For example, some occupations are traditionally held by men. Highly skilled women are also less likely than men to return to their home countries for reasons such as reintegration obstacles in their origin countries and the negative environments to which they seek to return. Diaspora networks might help in promoting the engagement of female migrants in the development of origin countries.

- Description
- Publication on foreign women and children associated with violent extremist groups. It provides an overview of the gaps and challenges related to the reintegration and rehabilitation of these women and .girls. The experiences of local civil society, in particular women-led civil society organizations (CSOs), were gathered through interviews, dialogues and case study profiles including Indonesia, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Uganda and Lebanon. The report shows that women and girls are associated with violent extremism in different ways. Their existence must be recognized by the community as well as that existing policies and practices must become genderresponsive for both men and women.

- Description
- The feeling of belonging to nothing or no one but oneself is not unusual in diaspora writing. Literature of migration often includes not just the departure from home. Writers like Jamaica Kincaid and Edwige Danticat interrogate migration, identity, exile, language, as well as the complications of writing about home from afar and writing about trauma of others.
