- Description
- This book reconnects the roots of black feminism to contemporary activism in the United States, describing the contributions of the black feminist organization, the Combahee River Collective (CRC). Forty years ago, in 1977, the CRC founders published a statement the so-called Combahee River Collective Statement. One remarkable aspect of this radical collective was its intersectional analysis of the roots of black women's oppression and inequality. In this collection of interviews, founding members of the CRC and contemporary activists - e.g. from #BlackLivesMatter - reflect on the legacy of its contributions to black feminism and its influence on today's struggles.
