Emma's authors Emma Necla Kelek, German-Turkish, and Sabine Küper-Büsch, German, went to Turkey to follow the tracks left by feminists. They also tried to answer following questions: is the Bosporus the border between Europe and Asia, or is Turkey already part of Europe, is president Erdogan serious about women's liberation or are muslims going to seize power.
Special because Emma exists thirty years now with a view on big themes like sexual violence, girls, pornography, Islam, humor, genital mutilation and so on. In those thirty years the writers and feminists Virginia Woolf and Simone de Beauvoir were also put in the spotlight. This issue begins with congratulations from the German prime-minister to co-workers. Renate Köcher analysed the outcome of a questionnaire of 2.028 people. Women and men from now talked about their expectations.
