- Description
- Descriptive history of the first black woman executed in North Carolina in the twentieth century. Anthropological and criminological discussions of Negro primitivism and gender parity are offered as viable explanations for the paucity of literature that specifically focuses on the manner in which violent black females have been socially constructed as to legitimize their oftentimes harsh punishments in the historic southern justice system.
