- Description
- This book considers the dynamics of intensification and diversification within and outside agriculture in contexts where women have less access to agrarian resources than men. One of the aims of the book is to summarize findings from the Afrint dataset, which followed smallholders across six countries from 2002 to 2013/15: Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Ghana, Kenya and Mozambique. It provides nuance to the current narratives of agricultural change by adding insights from gender and village-level studies of agrarian change. Finally, it gives suggestions for more inclusive policies related to rural development.
