- Description
- Special on violence against girls. Sexual violence against girls have been increasing noticeably. There are not only cases of molestation and rape, but also cases wherein the sexualization victims are speculated to be involved. Explored and discussed are how the media has been dealing with girls, based on findings from 'Adult Male's Gaze and Attitude toward Adolescent girls' a research by Rika Sakuma Sato (1998). The position of women in video games were examined and looked whether these games caused violence towards women. A correct and concrete sex education is necessary. The law regulating internet dating sites rejects the view of children as victims of sexual exploitation, as stated in the law of child prostitution and pornography. It adopts the notion that children are self-directed, independent and capable of calculation and commercial dealings. There are more men among criminals than women, by far. Also attention for sexual violence and children's rights.

- Description
- Paper in which the author explores cyberspace as a place where women who are struggling with anorexia can find sanctuary from the surveillance and regulatory mechanisms of control in the public sphere. Dias also explores the narratives of women who create and visit pro-ana or pro-anorexia websites in order to listen to these women's experiences of anorexia and their underlying reasons for inhabiting these spaces. Dias also looks whether women's behaviour on these websites may be considered feminist without being overtly political or overtly feminist and sees this dilemma as a central tension in third wave feminism.
