This report measures how laws and regulations affect women’s economic opportunity in 190 economies. According to the results, women still have three-fourths the legal rights of men. Laws matter for women’s economic inclusion. The 2020 edition covers reforms conducted during a two-year period ending in September 2019. The index explores economic rights during different milestones in a woman’s working life through eight indicators, including mobility, payment, laws affecting women's work after having children and legal constraints on a woman's pension.
