- Description
- This thesis examines the work of the British philosopher and novelist Iris Murdoch, especially the question how mankind can make himself morally better. The author explores the role of literature in Murdoch's philosophical writing and reconsiders various assumptions about philosophy, drawing on the work of Michèle Le Doeuff. She focuses on the presence of imagery in philosophy and philosophy's assumed neutrality.
