The authors of this anthology want to know how transatlantic movements of people impacted women’s lives, thought and emotions, and how transatlantic movements and encounters with women from other countries affected the way women thought about themselves. For these purposes the contributors collected speeches, letters, essays, petitions, poetry, court transcripts, religious tracts, excerpts from novels and polemic pamphlets.
