How can women’s rights be seen as a universal value rather than a Western value imposed upon the rest of the world? Addressing this question, the author offers a comparative study of writings by the English writer and feminist, Mary Wollstonecraft (1759-1797), and John Stuart Mill (1806-1873), English philosopher, and economist.
