- Description
- This report documents how while men and boys, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, .are targets of sexual violence in the Syrian conflict, gay and bisexual men and transgender women said they were subjected to increased and intensified violence based on actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity. This violence takes place in various settings, including Syrian detention centers, checkpoints, prisons, and within the ranks of the Syrian army. In Lebanon, survivors found limited services and inadequate support from humanitarian organizations—often due to lack of funding and .personnel trained to respond their needs.

- Description

- Description
- Pastor and rape survivor Ruth Everhart shines a light on the prevalence of sexual abuse and misconduct within Protestant Christian faith communities in the United States. Victims are routinely ignored by fellow Christians who deny their accounts and fail to bring accountability to the perpetrators. All too often, churches have been complicit in protecting abusers, reinforcing patriarchal power dynamics, and creating cultures of secrecy, shame, and silence. .The author discloses stories of how she and others have experienced assault in church settings, highlighting the damage done to individuals, families, and communities. Combined with scriptural narratives like those of Tamar and Bathsheba and the accounts of Jesus' interactions with women. With a call for action to churches to embrace the reckoning of the #MeToo movement before gender equality will be achieved.

- Description
- Studying a variety of literary forms – autobiographical writings, diaries, mothers’ advice books, poetry and drama – this book approaches early modern women’s strategies of identity formation. The author argues for an interpretation of these texts as attempts to establish a coherent, stable and convincing subjectivity, in spite of the constraints the authors encountered as women. Drawing on social and cultural history, feminist theory, psychoanalysis and the study of discourses, she makes close reading of the women’s texts and other sources. She questions interpretations of early modern women’s writing as voices from the margin or as a counter-discourse to patriarchy.

- Description
- Sabine Kittel wrote a book on Jewish women who survived the women´s concentrationcamp of Ravensbrück, and who, after World War II, continued living with their traumas, many of them after emigrating to the United Stated, as so called ´displaced persons´. The women were originally from Poland, Hungary, Germany, the Netherlands and Tsechoslovakia. They were interviewed at the age of 66-87 years. The introductory chapters are on the methodology of the research. Subsequent chapters are on living and surviving under the regime of the camp, the reorientation on life after the war, and life in the multi-ethnic society of present day America. Central questions in the book are: How could the women return to normality, after the total loss of identity. What were the influences on individual life histories of factors such as: solidarity among women, their national origins, the religious community, the presentation of the 'Holocaust' in American popular culture.
